Amy Byrick has been appointed new Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Transformation at Novozymes.
The company believes Byrick has a solid strategic and commercial track-record with strong focus on execution.
She will assume her new position in April 2021, and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team she will report to President & CEO Ester Baiget.
Byrick joins Novozymes from DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences, where she led the Global Food & Beverage business. Prior to her time at DuPont, she spent more than a decade at Amcor holding various strategic, marketing and general management positions.
Byrick holds both Canadian and French nationalities and resides in Denmark. She holds a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from INSEAD.
Byrick commented: “I’m very excited to join Novozymes. The company’s unique capabilities and technology, and its aspiration to enable sustainable solutions to meet evolving global needs, is something that I find immensely inspiring. I look forward to joining the team and growing the business.”
Thomas Videbæk, who is the interim EVP of Strategy & Business Transformation, will transition this role to Byrick. The aim is for the transition to take place during the second quarter of 2021. Videbæk will continue in his role as interim EVP of People, Sustainability & Brand until his successor is appointed and established in the role.
Ester Baiget, President & CEO: “Amy has strong cross-functional leadership capabilities and a solid track-record of driving operational simplification with a focus on empowerment and agile cultures and mindsets. Her capabilities will be instrumental in our collective effort to become a more customer-centric company with better commercial capabilities and a portfolio diversification that drives higher, sustainable growth. I’m confident Amy is the right person to advance our strategy and transform our business for the world of tomorrow.”
